Filipe Martins is Head of Innovation at APDL – Ports of Leixões, Viana do Castelo, and the Douro Inland Waterway, where he leads initiatives in digital transformation, smart logistics, energy transition, and green technology integration. With a background in engineering and innovation management, Filipe has worked across telecommunications, maritime, logistics, and smart infrastructure sectors, including multiple EU-funded projects.

His current focus includes the implementation of emerging technologies — such as blockchain, edge computing, and artificial intelligence — to enhance transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in port operations and intermodal logistics. He is also actively engaged in developing data governance frameworks and digital twin ecosystems for smart ports and inland waterway networks.
